I am German and studied Art history, German literature and Education at the University of Marburg, spending one academic year in Florence. After completing my PhD I worked in archives and cultural heritage but soon decided to move to Italy where I have lived for the past 20 years.
In Florence I happened to manage with some friends a celebrated vegetarian restaurant and I rediscovered and cultivated my creative skills as draughtsman and illustrator. In the meantime I never abandoned art historical research, and I have deepened my knowledge of literature, music and religious history, focusing on Jewish art and history.
It’s with my work as a guide at the Florentine synagogue I first came into a tighter contact with tourism. In 2003 I passed the examen to become qualified guide of Florence and it’s since then I’m doing a work which offers an exceptional possibility to cultivate my various interests and share them with people from all around the world.
